The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is an incredibly beautiful and unique book, and one of my all time favorites. It is about a freshman boy named Charlie and his first year of high school. The whole book is written as a series of letters to a friend that remains unnamed throughout the book, though you really feel as if Charlie is writing to you. Charlie writes out his pure thoughts and holds nothing back; you are literally let into his mind. I have always thought that people who smoked or did drugs and such were incredibly crazy, but he conveys his reasons in such a way that I can actually see why people would do things like that now - that's how well written the book is. He showed me that people who are depressed aren't always just people who have no hope for themselves and mope around all day, and also how he handled his sadness. This book is guaranteed to give you the feels.
